Bourbon Pecan Pie
Traditional pecan pie made with dark corn syrup and a splash of bourbon. Baked until set with a soft center and golden brown top.
Ingredients
- 1 deep dish unbaked pie crust
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup dark brown sugar - packed
- 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups dark corn syrup
- 1 ½ tablespoons unsalted butter - melted
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
- 1 cup pecan halves
Whisky Cinnamon Drizzle
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons bourbon
- 1 teaspoon milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk sugars, flour, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add eggs and whisk until smooth.
- Slowly mix in dark corn syrup.
- Stir in melted butter and bourbon.
- Fold in pecan halves.
- Pour into unbaked pie shell.
- Cover loosely with foil and bake 50 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake 10 to 15 minutes more until center is almost set and top is golden brown.
- Cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
- Whisk drizzle ingredients in a medium bowl and spoon over cooled pie.
Notes
- The center should jiggle slightly but not look wet.
- Cooling fully allows the filling to set properly.
