The classic and easy chili cheese dip has only three ingredients, but I prefer more flavor in my dips. The ingredients for this homemade Hormel chili cheese dip are simple and add a lot of flavor to the classic chili cheese dip.
- Two cans of Chili No Beans (Hormel brand or other)
- Jarred diced jalapenos-You can use fresh jalapenos if you wish. The jarred variety is a bit softer and releases more flavor.
- Chili powder
- Cumin
- Paprika
- Velveeta- sliced or cubed
- Shredded mild cheddar cheese-some for mixing into the dip itself and some for topping when serving or broiling.

How to Make Chili Cheese Dip
Preheat the oven- Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
Layer the ingredients- In a cast iron skillet, layer the ingredients by adding the two cans of Chili with no beans, then sprinkling with chili powder, cumin, and paprika. Add the Velveeta and stir the ingredients together. Top with shredded cheese.
Bake- Bake for about 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly.
Serve- Serve this baked dip with additional shredded cheese, jalapenos, corn chips such as Fritos scoops, or tortilla chips.
Store this chili in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

You can make chili cream cheese dip creamier by adding layers of cream cheese and dolloping softened cream cheese between layers of the chili ingredients.
